How to use it
Paste text and press Encode to get Base64, or paste Base64 and press Decode. Text is converted to UTF-8 first, so emoji and non-English characters work. The decoder also accepts the URL-safe variant (using – and _).
Base64 is an encoding, not encryption: anyone can decode it, so never use it to hide passwords.
FAQ
Why is Base64 longer than the original?
It uses 4 characters for every 3 bytes, so output is about 33% larger.
