How to use it
Enter the amount borrowed, the interest rate and the loan term. The repayment uses the standard amortisation formula, with interest charged each period at the annual rate divided by the number of repayments per year.
Add an extra amount to see how much sooner the loan is paid off and how much interest you save. Lenders calculate interest daily and may round differently, so your actual repayment can differ slightly.
FAQ
Is paying fortnightly cheaper than monthly?
Paying half the monthly amount every fortnight means 26 half-payments, the same as 13 monthly payments a year, which pays the loan off faster. This calculator's fortnightly figure is the exact fortnightly repayment, not half the monthly one.
What is included in the repayment?
Principal and interest only. Lenders' fees, insurance and offset accounts are not included.
