How to use it
Enter your target, what you have already saved, how many months you have, and optionally the interest rate on your savings account. The tool works out the regular monthly deposit needed, assuming interest compounds monthly and you deposit at the end of each month.

Why does interest lower the amount I need?
Interest earned on the balance does part of the work, so each deposit can be smaller. Over short periods the effect is small.
